Tasting Notes:

Rich full purple, with an explosive nose, starts like a Charmes, with a huge wealth of dark raspberry fruit, then builds some tannins behind in a way that is more characteristic of Mazoyères. Clearly a different character by the time it finishes

This is also ripe and pretty with its more layered nose of perfumed essence of various red berries laced with hints of earth, anise and a whiff of humus. The spicy and nicely voluminous full-bodied and surprisingly elegant flavors pack good punch on the youthfully austere finish that is shaped by relatively fine-grained tannins as well as bright acidity. This firm effort is quite promising but unlike the La Perrière, it will need at least a decade before it will be sufficiently civilized to be enjoyable.
