Grand Cru Soap Co. is simply a passion project for me. I got tired of soap. Pick up almost any bar or liquid soap at the store and turn it over, and you’ll find a list of unpronounceable ingredients longer than the instructions on a tax form. I didn’t want any of that on my family’s skin, so I started making my own. I make every bar by hand, in small batches, using the traditional, cold-process method. I use just four ingredients: organic coconut oil for a rich, bubbly lather. Organic olive oil for a gentle, creamy feel & restorative skin nourishment. Reverse-osmosis purified water and a carefully chosen, curated fragrance oil. Then each batch cures slowly for six weeks before a single bar is boxed. There are no shortcuts and no production line, just time and care.

Most bars on store shelves are made for speed. Many are mass-produced in factories, where the naturally produced, hydrating glycerin is often removed. Hardeners, preservatives, and synthetic detergents are added to turn out a finished bar in a matter of hours. Some aren’t technically soap at all. Cold-process soap is made the old-fashioned way: oils are combined by hand and then left to cure slowly for weeks, time that does naturally what shortcuts and additives are used for in a factory.

Along the way, the oils naturally produce glycerin, a skin-hydrating, mild, clear substance that forms on its own during soapmaking. Large manufacturers often remove it to sell separately, but in cold-process soap it stays right in the bar, where it belongs. The ingredient list stays short, and the result is a harder, longer-lasting soap with a creamy lather. It takes patience, but like a good wine, some things are simply worth the wait.

  • ONLY FOUR INGREDIENTS, AND THAT’S THE POINT: Saponified organic coconut oil, saponified organic olive oil, reverse-osmosis purified water, and fragrance. That’s the entire list. There are no fillers, dyes, hardeners, or lather boosters, and there’s no long ingredient panel to decipher. It’s just good soap, made the way it used to be.
  • MADE BY HAND, NOT BY A FACTORY: Every bar is mixed, poured, cut, and cured by hand in very small batches. This isn’t a mass-production operation and never will be. It’s a passion project, made by someone who simply wanted a better bar of soap.
  • SLOW-CURED FOR SIX WEEKS: Like a fine wine, good soap can’t be rushed. Each bar rests for at least six full weeks after it’s made, which yields a harder, longer-lasting bar with a rich, creamy lather.
  • A FRAGRANCE WITH STRUCTURE: The fragrance draws its inspiration from distinctive luxury perfume houses. Bright Calabrian bergamot and crisp grapefruit open with a spike of fresh ginger, settling into a warm, resinous finish of amber and patchouli. It’s sophisticated and refined, and it lingers pleasantly after every wash.
  • A GIFT WORTH GIVING: Each generous 6 oz bar arrives in a matte black box with gold foil detailing, with the Grand Cru logo debossed into the soap itself. Handmade in Englewood, Florida.

I’m not trying to build a soap empire. I make a limited number of bars because I love doing it and I’m proud of the result. When a batch is gone, it’s gone until the next one is ready.

The fine wine world shaped everything about this soap, starting with the name. In Burgundy, “Grand Cru” is reserved for the very finest vineyards, the ones that earn their reputation through patience, craft, and an uncompromising standard. That’s the standard I hold myself to with every batch.

Thank you for supporting a small, handmade product. I truly hope you enjoy using it as much as I enjoy making it.
