Ratings & Tasting Notes:
Moët & Chandon Nectar Impérial is a demi-sec, or semi-dry, Champagne, which distinguishes it from the more common Brut styles. Crafted to be a richer and sweeter expression of the house’s signature blend, it is designed for those who prefer a more generous and fruit-forward profile.
This Champagne is composed of a blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay, with a higher dosage (added sugar) that contributes to its luxurious sweetness. On the nose, it is intensely aromatic, offering tropical fruit notes such as pineapple, mango, and passion fruit, alongside stone fruit like nectarine and a hint of vanilla.
On the palate, Nectar Impérial is full-bodied and creamy, with a rich, velvety texture. The sweetness is well-balanced by a lively acidity, preventing it from being cloying and ensuring a refreshing finish. Its complex flavors of dried apricot, honey, and gingerbread make it an excellent choice for pairing with spicy Asian cuisine, foie gras, or fruit-based desserts. It is often enjoyed as a celebratory Champagne, particularly for those who appreciate a more opulent and expressive style.
