CrossBarn is the more accessible, value-driven label from acclaimed winemaker Paul Hobbs, named after a century-and-a-half-old barn on the Hobbs family fruit farm in upstate New York — a tribute to the values of hard work and integrity instilled in him growing up. While Paul Hobbs’ eponymous label is known for exacting, small-lot Cabernet, CrossBarn was built to offer a more approachable, immediately enjoyable expression of Napa Valley fruit, drawing from multiple sites across the valley. Antonio Galloni has specifically praised the label as “a great place to look for values” within the broader Paul Hobbs portfolio.
2014 is remembered as a graceful, well-balanced vintage in Napa Valley, and this bottling reflects that character clearly — rich and concentrated, but with real freshness and polish rather than sheer power.
