Purchase with confidence. All of our wines are selectively sourced and thoroughly inspected for authenticity and signs of poor storage. Accepted bottles are preserved in our climate-controlled cellar until they reach your doorstep. We have no storefront and no walk-in traffic, so nothing is moved or handled between inspection and shipping.

One reviewer, tasting from magnum, praised its unusually strong grapefruit finish, calling it one of the better rosé Champagnes they’d had. Effervescence and precision were highlighted as standout qualities even four decades on.

Taittinger has been family-owned since 1932 and remains one of the last major independent Champagne houses in Reims. Comtes de Champagne Rosé is the sister cuvée to the house’s celebrated Blanc de Blancs, made from 100% Grand Cru fruit — Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims — with a portion of still red wine blended in to achieve its color and structure. Like its Blanc de Blancs counterpart, it’s produced only in vintages the house considers truly exceptional, using exclusively first-press juice for maximum quality and aging potential.
1985 is widely regarded as an outstanding vintage across Champagne, following a brutally cold winter that saw temperatures plunge below -20°C and destroy much of the potential crop. The vines that survived were rewarded with an excellent summer, producing wines many critics have compared favorably to the celebrated 1982 vintage. Nearly all of the region’s top houses declared a vintage that year, and the wines have proven remarkably age-worthy. Now at four decades of age, this Rosé should be showing the full tertiary complexity that only truly great, well-cellared Champagne vintages can develop.
