The nose offers subtle, fully mature notes of dried red currants, pencil shavings, tobacco leaf, and a distinct herbal, earthy edge. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and austere, with the fruit receding slightly to reveal a frame of drying, rustic tannins and a crisp, high-toned acid structure.
