Tasting Notes:
94 points Burghound
I hadn’t had this in 10 years but I’m happy to report that time has been extremely beneficial to it. There is still a touch of wood evident on the menthol, minty and overtly spicy nose of honeysuckle, pear and acacia blossom scents. There is fine richness to the elegant and classy flavors that are more full-bodied than usual but the additional weight is more than buffered by the racy finishing acidity and almost painfully intense back end. For my taste this has arrive at its peak but the balance and underlying material is such that this should be capable of aging gracefully for years to come. (11/2015)
91 points Vinous
Vibrant aromas of lime skin, spearmint and peppermint. Firmly built and penetrating, with sound acidity giving the wine a sappy freshness. Less broad than the Ruchottes but structured, delineated and long on the palate. Still rather tightly wrapped and in need of bottle aging. (ST) 91+ (9/2002)
