This densely flavorful, velvety-textured wine goes deep in dark chocolate, toasted oak, and blackberry jam flavors. It delivers a tempting richness that makes it accessible relatively soon, while remaining built ideally for extensive cellar aging, proving to be “densely flavorful, velvety-textured… built ideally for aging.” Jim Gordon, April 2024

A very fine and exceptionally polished entry-level Napa Cabernet from the estate, this vintage opens with a highly fragrant bouquet of blackberry and black cherry fruits. Complex nuances of cedarwood, tobacco spices, and a pop of crème de cassis follow seamlessly. The medium to full-bodied palate is driven by crunchy Bing cherry and creamy blueberry notes, beautifully supported by “a bed of firm tannins and offering expressive crushed river stone and graphite notes on the finish.” Jonathan Cristaldi, May 2024

A beautiful blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Merlot, and 2% Malbec, this deep garnet-purple colored red tumbles out of the glass with expressive notions of juicy blackberries, blackcurrant jelly, and Morello cherries. Fascinating undertones of camphor, fallen leaves, and cracked black pepper follow in close succession. The medium to full-bodied palate remains incredibly soft, juicy, and approachable, boasting “bags of expressive black fruit flavors and minty sparks, finishing with impressive length.” Lisa Perrotti-Brown, October 2023

Sourced from across the length and breadth of the valley, this rich bottling offers up deep scents of dark loam, black cherries, cassis, and subtle hints of mocha. It remains medium to full-bodied, richly concentrated, and velvety in its texture, moving into “a lingering finish that’s tinged with hints of dried herbs, mocha and nut skin.” Joe Czerwinski, December 2023
Cult Wines International Notes:
Alpha Omega stands as one of the modern, ultra-premium icons of Napa Valley’s historic Highway 29 corridor in Rutherford, established in 2006 by Robin and Michelle Baggett. Instantly recognizable by its striking, contemporary farmhouse architecture and majestic reflecting pond, the estate is globally revered for capturing the absolute essence of Napa Valley’s diverse terroirs through a lens of high-octane luxury. To achieve their signature style—which brilliantly pairs Old World complexity with opulent New World fruit—the estate has long relied on a legendary winemaking brain trust, combining the talents of resident winemaker Matt Brain with the iconic global consulting master Michel Rolland. While Alpha Omega crafts an elite array of block-specific, single-vineyard cuvées, their flagship Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a masterfully orchestrated liquid mosaic. The 2021 release represents a precise masterwork, weaving 87% Cabernet Sauvignon with precise increments of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot, and Malbec sourced from premier valley floor and rugged mountain slopes spanning Rutherford, Atlas Peak, Mount Veeder, and Oak Knoll.
The 2021 growing season across Napa Valley is universally celebrated as a legendary, textbook benchmark vintage, yielding fruit of extraordinary concentration and pristine structural symmetry. Marked by a dry winter and a highly temperate, uniform spring, the vines naturally produced lower yields with tiny clusters and exceptionally small, thick-skinned berries. The entire summer progressed under beautifully moderate conditions completely free of disruptive heat waves, allowing for a slow, perfectly even phenolic maturation. To preserve the intense fruit purity and add monumental texturing, Alpha Omega utilized an elite, highly precise vinification process: a significant portion of the fruit underwent partial barrel fermentation in 100% French oak barriques, followed by 21 months of maturation in 30% new French oak. The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon emerged from this spectacular vintage as an absolute blockbuster triumph, seamlessly marrying an expressive bouquet of opulent black fruit compote, gun flint, sandalwood, and espresso grounds with soft, powdery tannins that offer incredible upfront approachability alongside a decade-plus cellaring potential.
