Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Bavarian Lion Vineyard is scented of black and red currants, crushed blackberries and bay leaves with touches of pencil shavings and cloves. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated in the mouth, the palate is loaded with black berry and spice box flavors, supported by firm chewy tannins and a lively backbone, finishing long with the oak poking through.

A big, expressive style, with layers of blackberry, red berry, licorice, anise, cedar and mocha flavors. Despite the richness and power the tannins are trim on the finish. Best from 2019 through 2028.
Cult Wines International Notes:
The 2014 Adobe Road Bavarian Lion Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon represents a focused, single-vineyard expression from the heart of Sonoma Valley, California. Adobe Road, known for its commitment to precision and quality derived from its founder’s background in racing, named this vineyard in tribute to the Bavarian heritage and strength of character.
The 2014 Vintage: The vintage in Sonoma County was celebrated for its near-perfect growing conditions. A warm, dry spring led to an early bud break, and the rest of the season remained warm and consistent, avoiding extreme heat spikes. This resulted in fruit with optimal ripeness, concentrated flavors, and a crucial element of natural acidity, ensuring the wine’s freshness and longevity.
Vineyard & Terroir: The Bavarian Lion Vineyard benefits from the varied microclimates and soils characteristic of Sonoma. This specific site contributes to a Cabernet Sauvignon that balances the classic power often associated with California with a distinctive Sonoma elegance and earthy complexity. The vineyard’s characteristics ensure depth without excessive weight, a hallmark of the finest expressions.
Tasting Profile and Structure: This wine is designed as a cellar-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon. It is full-bodied and powerful, presenting a concentrated core of blackberry, dark cherry, and plum, layered with subtle notes of mocha, leather, and vanilla derived from careful barrel aging. The structure is supported by firm yet finely integrated tannins and a persistent finish, promising excellent evolution over the next decade or more. It showcases the high quality and structure possible from a phenomenal growing season.
