The Sea Smoke vineyard is one of the original California “grand cru” Pinot Noir sites. With perfect southerly exposure on the transverse mountain range of the Sta. Rita Hills AVA and broad, open access to the breezes and fog emanating from the Pacific Ocean, this vineyard enjoys all the qualities that make for powerful yet balanced Pinot Noir wines. In addition to the cult-caliber wines that the estate produces itself, such Santa Barbara luminaries as Brewer-Clifton and Foxen have made use of the fruit in the past to create spectacular expressions. The “Ten” is Sea Smoke’s own blend of all ten clonal blocks in the vineyard.
