Angels’ Peak is part of the Terlato Family Vineyards portfolio, launched when Anthony Terlato and his sons Bill and John became winery owners and vintners in 1996. Conceived as the first release in the family’s “Peak Series,” Angels’ Peak was designed as a tribute to Pomerol — the celebrated Right Bank Bordeaux appellation known for its lush, Merlot-dominant wines — built primarily from Merlot with supporting Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.

Napa Valley’s early-2000s vintages varied considerably in character, and 2003 in particular is generally remembered as a milder, more moderate year compared to some of the more celebrated vintages around it. Now over two decades old, this Merlot-forward Pomerol-style blend has developed real tertiary complexity, with tasters noting it continues to evolve gracefully — good structure, softened tannins, and layered aromatics that reward patient cellaring.
