Silverado Vineyards was founded in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley by Ron and Diane Disney Miller — Diane being the daughter of Walt Disney — who purchased the land, previously owned by the See’s Candies family, in the mid-1970s and established the winery in 1981. The estate has grown into one of Napa’s most respected mid-sized producers, farming over 400 acres across the valley. The Limited Reserve bottling represents Silverado’s top-tier Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced only from the estate’s finest vineyard lots and reserved for the winery’s best vintages.

1994 is widely regarded as a landmark vintage for Napa Valley, marking what many consider the start of the region’s modern golden era following years of recovery from the AxR rootstock crisis and phylloxera. Growing conditions were close to ideal, with a dry, cool spring and a long, moderate summer allowing for slow, even ripening and outstanding phenolic development. Wine Spectator recognized this bottling on release as a genuine standout of the vintage. Now at over three decades of age, this bottle should be showing the full tertiary complexity that this celebrated vintage was built to develop.
