Purchase with confidence. All of our wines are selectively sourced and thoroughly inspected for authenticity and signs of poor storage. Accepted bottles are preserved in our climate-controlled cellar until they reach your doorstep. We have no storefront and no walk-in traffic, so nothing is moved or handled between inspection and shipping.
The bottle you see photographed is the bottle you receive (or fundamentally identical when multiple bottles are listed), and our commitment to you is that it arrives as represented. If it doesn’t, we want to hear from you.

Parker writes that little can be added to the greatness of the 2013 Grand Vin, a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot, with 600 cases produced. He finds it stunning in its dense crème de cassis and blackberry-scented nose, with a hint of barbecue smoke and forest floor, and likens it to a ripe vintage of Château Latour. Amazing richness and a savoury, expansive mouthfeel, yet it tiptoes across the palate like a ballerina — a wine of magnificent richness and intensity alongside vibrancy, purity and equilibrium, and in his view a staggeringly great wine.

Incredible blackcurrant, blueberry, stone, oyster shell and violet — subtle and complex, with sweet tobacco. Full-bodied, with superb density and flavour, great length and structure. A wine Suckling calls complete and complex, linear and dense, with a great deal of ageing potential.

Saturated medium ruby to the rim. Black fruits, crushed rock and tropical bitter chocolate on the nose, lifted by a hint of wildflowers. Densely packed and uncommonly deep, its black fruit, floral and mineral flavours sharing the pristine quality of the 2013 Roberta’s. Tanzer describes an incredibly rich, tactile, chewy wine finishing with suave, steadily building tannins, though an element of medicinal menthol reserve suggests it still needs several years of patience.

Kapcsándy Family Winery was founded in Yountville by Lou Kapcsándy, a Hungarian-born chemical engineer who bought the State Lane property in 2000 after a career outside wine, encouraged in part by a long friendship with Silver Oak’s Justin Meyer. The vineyard is small, intensively farmed and unusually well sited on the valley floor, and the family’s approach has drawn comparisons to a Bordeaux château more often than to a Napa cult label — several separate wines made from one parcel, with strict selection deciding which barrels reach the top bottling. The Grand Vin is the flagship, made only in quantities the vineyard can justify.
2013 is widely held to be one of the finest Napa vintages of the decade, a long and even growing season that delivered ripeness and structure together. The blend is 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot, with 600 cases produced. The wine is dense and saturated: crème de cassis, blackberry, blueberry and plum over crushed rock, oyster shell, violet, wildflowers, sweet tobacco, mocha, espresso, liquorice, leather, barbecue smoke and forest floor. Richly textured and expansive, yet carried with a lightness that one critic likened to a ballerina, its suave tannins build steadily through a long, layered finish. Comparisons to a ripe vintage of Château Latour recur in the reviews, and a menthol reserve still held in the structure points to years of development ahead.
