Purchase with confidence. All of our wines are selectively sourced and thoroughly inspected for authenticity and signs of poor storage. Accepted bottles are preserved in our climate-controlled cellar until they reach your doorstep. We have no storefront and no walk-in traffic, so nothing is moved or handled between inspection and shipping.
The bottle you see photographed is the bottle you receive (or fundamentally identical when multiple bottles are listed), and our commitment to you is that it arrives as represented. If it doesn’t, we want to hear from you.

Tasting Notes:
Jasper Morris: 93-96 Points
There is more limestone in their plot in the northern end of the vineyard in distinction to the Mazoyères-Chambertin though the same technique of 50-60% retained pedicels and 25% new wood has been used. If anything the Charmes is slightly less deep in colour with a fresh nose even some minerals. Then the wine fattens and sweetens to deliver the come-hither gaiety of classical Charmes. Dark strawberry luscious fruit to finish. Drink from 2027-2037.
Vinous: 94-96 Points
The 2021 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru includes 50% whole bunches (pédicelles) and 20% new oak. Plenty of crushed stones on the nose mainly black fruit hints of oyster shell and white pepper. The palate is beautifully balanced with a silky texture sleek and tensile with cracked black pepper and limestone on the finish. Superb.
Burghound: 91-94 Points
A more restrained and more elegant nose features notes of the essence of red pinot fruit anise and a plethora of pretty floral elements. Here too the medium-bodied flavors possess a caressing texture that is finer if less powerful on the youthfully austere balanced and sneaky long finish. This is presently not quite as complex as the Mazoyères but that may well change with time in bottle. (Drink starting 2033)
