Showing beautiful energy and a classic, crowd-pleasing style, this flagship Champagne delivers a bright and lively personality. Crisp green apple, white peach, and fresh citrus flavors drive the palate, seamlessly supported by fine, persistent bubbles and a subtle touch of ginger. It is an incredibly reliable, balanced effort that stands out as “vibrant, with a firm backbone of acidity framing apple, pear and mineral flavors.” Alison Napjus, December 2018

88 points Wine Enthusiast

Exceedingly fresh, crisp, and textbook in its presentation, this non-vintage blend offers an immediate sense of refreshment. Aromas of lime zest, wet stone, and soft white flowers lead into a bright, clean mouthfeel underpinned by a classic, dry finish. It represents a highly successful commercial benchmark, showcasing a profile that “is crisp, dry and with a fine line of acidity that keeps it tense.” Roger Voss, December 2020

Cult Wines International Notes:

Moët & Chandon, originally established in Épernay in 1743 by Claude Moët, stands as an absolute, globally dominant titan of the Champagne region, famously boasting a historic pedigree that once catered to European royalty and Napoleon Bonaparte. As the estate’s definitive global ambassador, the “Brut Impérial” is a masterclass in large-scale blending precision, purposefully engineered to deliver a consistent, world-class house style year after year. The meticulous non-vintage assemblage draws from over 200 distinct crus across the region, seamlessly weaving a vibrant triad of 30% to 40% Pinot Noir for structure, 30% to 40% Pinot Meunier for fleshy roundness, and 20% to 30% Chardonnay for elegant acidity. Enhanced by a substantial 20% to 30% inclusion of specially selected reserve wines, the final blend undergoes a minimum of 24 months of cellar aging on its lees to develop its signature complexity.

The Brut Impérial effectively represents the modern, dry evolution of the house, famously taking over the spotlight when the slightly sweeter “White Star” cuvée was retired. Crafted with a precise, traditional Brut dosage of roughly 7 grams of sugar per liter, this iconic Champagne is celebrated for its bright, high-toned energy and impeccable gastronomic versatility. The wine pours a brilliant straw-yellow with golden highlights, immediately releasing an expressive bouquet of crisp green apples, white flowers, and zesty citrus fruits. On the palate, this initial brightness is beautifully complemented by a fine, creamy mousse and developing tertiary undertones of fresh brioche, raw almonds, and honeycomb. It emerges as a triumphant, beautifully balanced standard-bearer, marrying a vibrant core of primary fruit with a clean, chalky minerality that guarantees an immediate, celebratory drinking experience.
