Our Provenance Guarantee
Purchase with confidence. All of our wines are selectively sourced and thoroughly inspected for authenticity and signs of poor storage. Accepted bottles are preserved in our climate-controlled cellar until they reach your doorstep. We have no storefront and no walk-in traffic, so nothing is moved or handled between inspection and shipping.
The bottle you see photographed is the bottle you receive (or fundamentally identical when multiple bottles are listed), and our commitment to you is that it arrives as represented. If it doesn’t, we want to hear from you.
Ratings & Tasting Notes:
96 points — Wine Advocate (Robert Parker)
Parker calls it a fabulous wine and the best yet from this partnership, with incredible equilibrium, superb purity and a finish of close to 45 seconds or more. Black cherry, blackberry, lavender, clover and new leather are fused together in a super-expressive, inky Cabernet Sauvignon.
93 points — Vinous (Antonio Galloni)
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Entre Deux Mères is another winner from this dynamic Napa Valley duo. Galloni finds it captures all the intensity and structure of the year while retaining enough mid-palate sweetness and overall juiciness to drink well with minimal cellaring.
Cult Wines International Notes:
Drinkward Peschon is a partnership between Lisa Drinkward, vintner of Behrens Family Wines, and Françoise Peschon, the winemaker behind Araujo Estate and Vine Hill Ranch. Their friendship began through their children and grew through a shared love of wine. In September 2000 they secured a few tons of Cabernet Sauvignon from a small grower in Oakville, hand-picked and sorted the fruit, and fermented it in small lots — and the project began with that vintage. The name translates as “between two mothers.” Production is artisanal in scale, the fruit sourced from Napa Valley, and the cellar approach deliberately restrained and classically minded, which sets the wines apart from the extracted style common at this level.
2013 is widely held to be one of the finest Napa vintages of the decade, a long and even growing season that delivered ripeness and structure together. The wine is opaque ruby-purple, with black cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant and cherry over pen ink, graphite, lavender, clover, new leather, cedar, cigar box, white chocolate and a subtle background earthiness. Super-expressive and inky, it carries real equilibrium and purity, with the intensity and structure of the year balanced by a mid-palate sweetness and juiciness that make it approachable without extended cellaring. The finish runs close to forty-five seconds. One reviewer called it the finest wine the partnership had made to that point.
