Accepted bottles are preserved in our climate-controlled cellar until they reach your doorstep. We have no storefront and no walk-in traffic, so nothing is moved or handled between inspection and shipping.

Sweet kirsch and blueberry fruit with licorice, sweet spice, violets and crushed rock. Full-bodied, intense, sweetly fruited and complex, a wine that “does everything right.” Best after 4 to 6 years in bottle, with two to three decades of life ahead.

Chimère is a rare collaboration between Manfred Krankl of Sine Qua Non, the late, legendary consultant Philippe Cambie and the Maurel brothers of Clos Saint-Jean in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Founded in 2010, the project unites the avant-garde artistry of California’s most celebrated cult winemaker with deep-rooted Châteauneuf tradition. Made in tiny quantities and bottled only in magnum, each vintage carries Krankl’s original artwork on the label.
The 2015 is primarily Mourvèdre from the La Crau lieu-dit, with a touch of Grenache and Clairette, brought up entirely in demi-muids, from a superb, sun-blessed vintage in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Jeb Dunnuck awarded 97 points, describing sweet kirsch, blueberry, licorice, violets and crushed rock on a full-bodied, intense and complex frame, and predicting two to three decades of life. This listing is a single magnum in its original wooden box.
