Tasting Notes:
98 points Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Tench Vineyard (an Oakville site) plays the same theme song. Inky purple to the rim with magnificent aromatics of flowers, black and blue fruits, and touches of background barrique and earth, this wine is full-bodied and stunningly concentrated, with well-delineated flavors and amazing length. Again, this is another 25-year wine at minimum. (RP)
95+ points Vinous
A much more powerful expression of Oakville emerges from the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Tench Vineyard, which, not surprisingly, is sourced from the rockiest of the five parcels on the site. Powerful and tightly wound to the core, the 2013 exudes energy, with massive tannins that totally enshroud the fruit. The Tench is by far the most backward, tannic wine in the Bevan range. Accordingly, it will need at least a few years to settle down. (AG) 95+ (10/2015)
