Bertani Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG is widely considered the quintessential expression of traditional Amarone. The wine is crafted from carefully selected native grapes—primarily Corvina and Rondinella—sourced from the prestigious Classico area of Valpolicella. The defining characteristic of Amarone production is the appassimento process, where grapes are naturally air-dried on arele (bamboo mats) for several months after harvest. Bertani favors a long, slow fermentation and an unusually extensive aging period, often spending six to seven years in large, neutral Slavonian oak botti.
