Ratings & Tasting Notes:
91 points Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
An exceptional wine, the black/purple-colored 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Mountain Estates (1,800 cases) has gorgeous blackberry and cassis flavors intermixed with licorice, spice box, Asian spice, and vanilla. It is unctuously-textured, full-bodied, with moderate tannin in the finish. Ideally, I would give this wine 2-3 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following two decades. It is a top-flight wine and an impressive new entry into the Cabernet sweepstakes. What an impressive debut performance. (RP) (12/2000)
