Very ripe aromas of pear, apple, cinnamon, mace, toast and honeysuckle. Large-scaled, rich and mouthfilling, with a flavor of toffee apple. This is thick with extract but can’t quite equal the best Grande Dame vintages for concentration and thrust. But still impeccably made, very rich Champagne. (ST) (11/2001)

Young, with a taut citrus, ginger, mineral, soice and floral bouquet, this bright and light-on-its-feet wine has lots of dimension. Yellow fruit flavors, anise accents and fine fruit-to-acid balance mark the cream, yet airy palate. The mineral-chalk and the citrus-peel finish is long, with brisk acidity. High-strung, like fine white Burgundy; though delicious now, it will benefit from aging for three to six plus years. *Cellar Selection* (12/2001)
