Tasting Notes:

91 points Wine Spectator

Aromas of currant and sweet tobacco follow through to a full body, with soft, silky tannins and a long, flavorful finish. A little dusty, but lots of fruit and character. (JS, Web-2009)

Vinous

The 1988 Lagrange was picked from 3 to 19 October. The bouquet is expressive and very attractive with red berry fruit, iron, pressed flowers and sandalwood aromas. This still seems vigorous. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. The acidity keeps this well balanced and lends real freshness, good grip even if there is some dryness creeping in towards the finish. As such, I would drink bottles in the near future. Tasted at the Lagrange vertical at the estate. (NM)  (12/2020)
