The Chateau Pavie 1985 has a deep, slightly cloudy mahogany hue with tawny rim. The nose is very attractive with lifted ripe, slightly honeyed fruit: mulberry, sloe, kirsch and smoke. The palate is medium-bodied with good fruit concentration that is paradigmatic of the vintage. Well balanced though perhaps rustic and slightly bretty but there is great persistency on the finish.
