Ratings & Tasting Notes:

John Gilman

The wine has now entered a delicate endgame, but is not yet showing any signs of oxidation and is still a lovely drink. The complex and tertiary nose offers up scents of cherries, nutskin, Rutherford Dust, spice tones redolent of red curry and a gentle base of coconutty American oak. On the palate the wine is medium-full and beautifully transparent, with fine balance, melted tannins, bright acids and good complexity on the long and gentle finish. This will not hold on for many more years, but it is only on the cusp of the far side of the plateau and has not yet started its descent and remains a very pretty glass of old Cabernet. (Drink between 2017-2025)(7/2017)
